The Singapore Slingers have announced the signing of their new international import. Standing at 6’7 and weighing 215 pounds, Marcus Skinner, a former Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther, would replace Michael LeBlanc as the second international import for the Slingers.
The 24 year old averaged 7.5 points and grabbed 5.9 rebounds for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee as a senior player, when they competed in the NCAA tournament in 2007-2008.
Later, Skinner went on to play for the Mid-Michigan Destroyers in the Premier Basketball League (PBL) in the USA, where he averaged 17.4 points and 6.3 rebounds.
He took a break from pro-basketball last year due to an ankle injury.
With Skinner, the Slingers look to be a formidable team once again this season. As a good finisher around the basket, Skinner would add a new dimension of the game to the Slingers team. The Slingers will look to him as a dependable low-post scoring option for their high-powered motion offense.
